NACFC 2018 | Plenary 3: Partnering: The Oldest New Idea to Improve CF Care

Published on oktober 24, 2018 by

The relationship that people with CF and their families build with their clinical care teams can greatly affect their health. This plenary from the 32nd annual NACFC featured quality improvement expert, Dr. Maren Batalden, a hospitalist and assistant professor at Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Batalden led the audience through the tensions underlying the shift away from a traditional approach in which the clinician led the interaction, to a more collaborative partnership with patients. These themes were further explored by panelists, Melanie Abdelnour, an adult living with cystic fibrosis, Kathy Sabadosa, a parent to a child with CF, and Cindy George, who leads the Foundation’s work to help people with CF balance treatments with their daily lives.
